职位描述/要求:
Our client is a top Fortune 500 company. The Asia Pacific Legal Counsel position is responsible for all law and contracts activities in the region. The position will report to the Asia Pacific General Counsel and will be located in Shanghai.
Responsibilities:
This position serves as a key member of the Asia Pacific leadership team on matters of strategic importance to the business, establishing key strategic alliances, the acquisition, licensing and protection of key intellectual property assets, and risk-opportunity analysis for business transactions. Also serves as lead counsel for the Asia Pacific region in matters involving business acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures, including formulating deal structures, identifying and analyzing material terms, negotiating definitive agreements and management of the integrative process.
The individual will also be responsible for dispute resolution efforts and strategy, implementation of intellectual property protection strategies, employment and trade union issues in the Asia Pacific region, and will manage the use of external counsels where appropriate.
Responsibility for the Asia Pacific Contracts team by ensuring satisfaction of legal requirements in contractual documents, maximizing profit and cash flow while minimizing risk in the negotiation of contracts and contribute to the retention of business by developing strong working relationships with external customers and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
· JD/LLM degree, PRC Qualified
· At least 7 years with major law firm and/or Corporate experience
· Excellent Communication Skills. Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese
· Strong legal background which includes subject matter expertise in corporate commercial and intellectual property laws
· General knowledge of the Asia Pacific region where the business operates and knowledge of the laws and regulations governing contracts
· Ability to think conceptually and strategically, while maintaining a results driven approach
· Focus on simplification and process improvement
· Negotiate and participate in risk analysis on large and key projects;
· Identifying and keeping current on business activities that may implicate government contracting regulations and procedures
· Establishing and managing processes to ensure practices comply with applicable laws and policies
· Managing, nurture and develop the team of APAC based contracts managers
· Conducting contracts due diligence to support acquisitions
· Conducting functional audits/reviews
· Driving best practices throughout the organization, including training and leadership
· Strong problem solving, negotiation and interpersonal skills
· Comprehensive knowledge of contract administration including legal, procurement and accounting requirements; and international contracting
· Ability to establish priorities for the legal team and to execute to those priorities
· Ability to lead, influence and motivate your team and to act as a catalyst for change
· Strong problem resolution skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to address issues.
